How to Heal After Being Used and Insulted in Love

Answered 17 October 2026 at 2:17 pm PKT

Being betrayed and then hurt again can leave deep wounds. Here’s how to start healing and rebuilding your trust.

I loved someone and they used me to marry someone else. Then I tried to move on with someone who loved me, but now they're insulting me too.

Aap have been hurt by people who did not treat aap with kindness or respect. That is genuinely hard, and it is no surprise that aap are feeling this pain. The first thing to do is to be gentle with yourself. You deserve care and understanding, especially when you have been treated badly.

Take care of yourself

  • Do one thing each day that makes you feel a little better. It could be a walk, a favourite meal, or talking to someone who cares about you.
  • Write down what you are feeling. It can help to get it out of your head and onto paper. You do not have to show it to anyone.
  • Try to sleep well. When you are tired, everything feels harder. Keep your phone out of the bedroom, and try to go to bed and wake up at the same times every day.

Think about what you want

It is okay to take time to heal before you think about another relationship. You do not have to rush into anything. If you do want to meet someone new, think about what you want in a partner. What matters most to you? Kindness, honesty, or something else? Make a list, and keep it with you. When you meet someone, you can look at it and remember what you deserve.

Talk to someone who understands

You do not have to go through this alone. If you have friends or family who you trust, talk to them. They can listen and support you. If you do not feel ready to talk to someone you know, you can talk to Zara. She is here to listen and help, no matter what.
