Husband Already Married: I'm His Third Wife

Asked by Farah, Hyderabad · 10 October 2026 at 1:40 am PKT

Discovering that your husband hid a previous marriage is a shock that can shake your entire world. This page explains where you can turn for emotional support, legal clarity, and safe help in Pakistan.

I found out my husband is already married and I'm his third wife. I feel lost and don't trust him. Who can I talk to about this?

You have just found out something that turns your whole world upside down. Feeling lost, shocked, and unable to trust him is a natural response to a real betrayal — and you do not have to sit with this alone. There are people you can talk to, and starting with even one conversation can make the weight lighter.

Talk to one person you trust

Think of someone who is safe for you — a close friend, a sister, a cousin, or a mother you trust. Tell them as much or as little as you want. You don't need to explain yourself to anyone right now.

  • A trusted friend or family member who will not gossip and will take your side.
  • A counselor from our find-help page at depression.pk/find-help — they are trained for exactly this kind of betrayal and will keep things private.
  • Zara, a companion from our team, any time you need to talk without being interrupted or judged.

If you want to understand your legal position, that is a separate step and you can do it when you are ready. But for your heart right now, talking to someone who listens is the most important thing.

Take your time

You don't have to decide tonight what to do about your marriage. That decision is yours and yours alone, when your head is clearer. What matters most right now is that you are safe, and that you are not carrying blame that was never yours. His secret is his, not yours. Log kya kahenge can make this even harder, but you are not responsible for his choices.

Keep talking to someone. Even one honest conversation can remind you that you are not alone in this — and you are not.
