Pre-Wedding Anxiety and Body Pain: Safe Ways to Feel Better

Answered 28 September 2026 at 11:23 am PKT

Are you getting married soon but feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and physical pain? This page explains why weddings trigger these stress symptoms and offers safe, practical steps to feel calmer—without relying on unproven medicines.

I am getting married in October but I am feeling very anxious and my whole body hurts. I want to get better quickly, what medicine should I take?

It makes complete sense that you are feeling this way. A wedding in a few months is a huge life event, and the pressure from family, the arrangements, the expectations — it all piles up. The anxiety and the body aches are connected: when your mind is under constant stress, your muscles tense up, your sleep gets disturbed, and you can feel pain all over. That is genuinely hard, and wanting to feel better fast is very understandable.

But please do not take any medicine on your own. No pill you buy over the counter or borrow from someone will fix this quickly, and some can make things worse — especially if they interact with your sleep or mood. The only safe way is to see a doctor, ideally a GP or a psychiatrist, who can check what is actually happening and prescribe something appropriate if needed. They can also rule out any physical cause for the body pain, like a vitamin deficiency or thyroid issue, which are common in Pakistan and can cause these exact symptoms.

What you can do right now

  • Start with your body — try a warm water bottle or a gentle stretch before bed. Even five minutes of slow neck and shoulder rolls can release a lot of the tension that builds up during the day.
  • Talk to one person you trust — a close friend, a sibling, or your fiancé if that feels safe. Saying "I am really scared about the wedding" out loud often cuts the anxiety in half.
  • Get your basics checked — ask your GP for a simple blood test: vitamin D, B12, and iron are very common deficiencies here, and correcting them can reduce both pain and low mood. Do not start any supplement without a test first.

If you feel you cannot wait and the anxiety is overwhelming, our team at Depression.pk has a free self-test and a directory of professionals who understand the Pakistani context. You can find them at /find-help and /test. And Zara is here to talk whenever you need — just start a conversation. You do not have to go through this alone, and you do not have to fix it with a pill.
