Women’s Shelters in Pakistan for Abuse and Crisis Safety

Answered 21 September 2026 at 8:47 pm PKT

If you are thinking about harming yourself or may be in immediate danger, seek urgent help from local emergency services or a crisis helpline, and move to a safer place if you can do so without increasing the risk. This page explains whether women’s shelters in Pakistan can provide temporary protection from family abuse, how to contact one, and how to leave safely.

My mother repeatedly blames and shames me after accidents, and I feel cursed, drained, and emotionally unsafe. I’m having thoughts of harming myself because the pain feels unbearable—could a women’s shelter give me temporary safety and support?

Yes. If you are an adult woman, a women’s shelter may be able to offer temporary safe accommodation, food, and help making a safety plan. Entry rules differ, so a bed cannot be promised, but this is a suitable place to ask for help.

Because you are thinking of harming yourself, do not stay alone right now.

  • Move away from your mother and go near a trusted neighbour or relative if you can leave safely.
  • Put distance between yourself and anything you could use to hurt yourself, and ask someone else to remove it.
  • Tell one person plainly, “I might hurt myself tonight. I need you to stay with me and help me get to a women’s shelter.”
  • If packing would delay you or increase your risk, leave without it; take your CNIC, essential medicines, and charger only if safe.

What your mother is doing is not your fault. Accidents do not make you cursed, and repeated blame and shame can leave anyone feeling drained and unsafe.

Stay here with me for this moment: are you alone with your mother, and might you hurt yourself in the next ten minutes?
