Carrying Deep Emotional Pain and Feeling Stuck: Faith, Hurt, and Hope

Answered 15 October 2026 at 8:19 pm PKT

If years of emotional pain have left you unable to focus and questioning your faith, you are not alone. This page explores why people hurt us, how to hold onto your faith, and where to find the courage to keep going.

I have been carrying deep emotional pain for so many years, and now I feel stuck — I can't focus on my studies or daily life. Why do people hurt me when I never hurt anyone, and does this mean my faith is weak? I don't have the courage to live anymore.

Aap are carrying so much pain, and it makes sense that you feel stuck and unable to focus. Pain like this is heavy, and it’s not fair that you’re carrying it alone. The hurt you’ve experienced doesn’t reflect your faith—it reflects the actions of others, and that is not your fault. You don’t deserve to feel this way, and you don’t have to.

Why people hurt you

People hurt others for many reasons, and none of them are your fault. Sometimes, their own pain or struggles make them act in ways that hurt others. Other times, it’s about their own fears or insecurities. But no matter the reason, it’s not because you’ve done anything wrong. Hurt people often hurt others, and that doesn’t mean you’ve failed in any way.

How to move forward

This pain has been with you for so long, and it’s okay to feel exhausted. But you don’t have to carry it alone—talking to someone who understands can help. Whether it’s a trusted friend, family member, or a professional, sharing your burden can lighten it. If talking feels too hard right now, writing down your thoughts or praying for strength might help.

If you’re feeling like you can’t go on, that is a sign you need support. Many people feel this way, and it doesn’t mean you’re weak—it means you’re hurting, and you deserve help. You matter, and your life matters. If you’re in immediate danger, stay with a trusted person or go to the nearest hospital. You don’t have to face this alone.

Take small steps forward. Rest when you need to, and be kind to yourself. You’ve been through so much, and you deserve care and healing. Inshallah, things will get better.
