Stuck in Constant Anxiety? How to Find Someone to Talk to in Pakistan

Answered 27 September 2026 at 9:05 pm PKT

If you feel trapped in an endless loop of worry about the future, you're not alone. This page offers practical steps to reach out and get real, compassionate help from a person who can genuinely support you.

I'm stuck in a constant loop of worry and anxiety about the future, and I can't calm down. I really need to talk to a real person who can genuinely help me, but I'm not sure how to get that. What should I do?

It is exhausting to be stuck in that loop, and the feeling that you need a real person to talk to is completely understandable. That kind of worry, the kind that keeps spinning no matter what you do, is genuinely hard to carry alone.

The first thing to know is that you do not have to figure this out by yourself. Our team at Depression.pk is here exactly for this. You can open Zara, our companion, right now and just talk. She is not a replacement for a professional, but she is a real, present space where you can let all of that worry out without any judgment. Sometimes just speaking it aloud, even to a screen, breaks the loop for a moment.

Here are a few concrete steps you can take right now:

  • Try the "5-4-3-2-1" grounding trick. Look around you and name: 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. This forces your brain out of the future and into the present room you are in.
  • Write one single worry down on paper. Do not try to solve it. Just write it. Then fold the paper and put it in your pocket or a drawer. Tell yourself, "I will look at this in one hour." Often, the act of writing it down gives your mind permission to stop holding it.
  • Do one small, physical thing. Wash your face with cold water, make a cup of chai, or walk from your room to the kitchen and back. Movement of any kind changes your brain chemistry a little, even when you do not feel like it.

If you are looking for a therapist or counsellor who understands the Pakistani context—someone who gets family pressure, cost concerns, and stigma—we have a verified list at /find-help. Many of them offer online sessions, and some work on a sliding scale based on what you can afford. You do not need a referral; you can just book an appointment.

What you are feeling is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign that your mind is trying to protect you, but it has gotten stuck. You have already done the hardest part: you reached out. Now take one small step, and let someone on our team or one of the professionals on that list help you carry the rest.

Names and cities shown here are examples. Every question is published anonymously — we never ask for, store or show the name, city or contact details of the person who wrote it.

Still on your mind?
