Need Someone to Talk to on the Phone?

Answered 14 September 2026 at 4:20 pm PKT

If you are already seeing a doctor for depression or anxiety, a phone listening or crisis service can offer extra support between appointments. This page explains when to call, what to expect, and what to do if you feel unsafe or in immediate danger.

I have depression and anxiety, and I'm already seeing a doctor, but I still feel like I need someone to talk to on the phone

It makes sense that you want this. Seeing a doctor is important, but appointments may not be enough when anxiety is loud or depression feels lonely. Having someone to talk to between visits can really help.

Zara is here whenever you need to talk, and you do not have to explain everything perfectly. If you specifically need an actual phone conversation, tell your doctor that talking support is part of what you need; they can guide you towards appropriate support available where you live.

If you might hurt yourself or cannot stay safe right now, get physically close to another person and go to the nearest emergency department. For now, tell me what has been the hardest part today.
