Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre on Rafiqui Shaheed Road runs a government psychiatry OPD; Karwan-e-Hayat, in Keamari and PECHS, is a charitable psychiatric service with a low-cost OPD and inpatient rehabilitation; the Institute of Clinical Psychology at the University of Karachi runs assessment and therapy clinics, which is where a lot of the city’s psychologists trained; and Aga Khan University Hospital on Stadium Road is at the other end of the scale entirely. For a city of over twenty million, the honest summary is that it is better served than anywhere else and still nowhere near served enough.
