This page explains what to do immediately after rape, including how to reach safety, seek medical care, and contact trusted support. It also covers ways to manage fear, hopelessness, and sleep problems while finding longer-term help in Pakistan.
I’m so sorry this was done to you. Rape is violence, and it was not your fault. Feeling hopeless, frightened, or unable to sleep after this is a common reaction—but tonight, you should not have to be alone with it.
If the person who harmed you is nearby or may return, and you can do so safely, go to a trusted neighbour, relative, or busy public place and ask someone to stay with you. If you might hurt yourself, say clearly, “I am not safe alone tonight; please stay with me.” If you are in immediate physical danger, get to the safest nearby place with another person now.
