Feeling Hopeless? Crisis Support for Family, Money & Relationship Issues

Answered 26 October 2026 at 12:20 pm PKT

If you're overwhelmed by family problems, financial stress, or relationship conflicts and feel like giving up, you're not alone. This page offers immediate crisis support and practical steps to help you find hope and safety in Pakistan.

I am feeling very distressed due to family issues, financial struggles, and relationship problems. I am losing hope in life and sometimes even think about harming myself.

That sounds incredibly heavy to carry, and I am genuinely sorry you are going through this. When everything—family, money, relationships—piles up at once, it can feel like there is no way out, and the thought of harming yourself can start to feel like an option. Please know that this feeling is a sign of how much pain you are in, not a sign that things cannot change. You are not alone in this, and there are people who want to help you through it.

What you can do right now

  • Tell one person you trust. It does not have to be a big speech. Just say, "I am not okay, and I need someone with me right now." A friend, a cousin, a sibling, even a neighbour—someone who will sit with you without judging.
  • Remove anything you could use to harm yourself. If you have pills, blades, or anything else, give them to someone you trust or put them somewhere hard to reach. This is not about weakness—it is about giving yourself a moment to breathe.
  • Call a crisis helpline. In Pakistan, you can call the Rozan Helpline at 0304-111-1749 (11am to 9pm, Monday to Saturday) or the Pakistan Mental Health Helpline at 0311-778-6624 (24/7). They are trained to listen and they will not tell you what to do—they will just be there.

Why this feels so hopeless right now

When you are in the middle of financial struggle, family tension, and relationship pain, your brain stops seeing a future. That is not a character flaw—it is what happens when stress overloads your system. The hopelessness is real, but it is also temporary. People come back from this, and you can too. The first step is just getting through the next hour.

The most important thing is to not be alone with these thoughts. Even if you feel like no one understands, there are people—professionals, volunteers, strangers who care—who will listen. You do not have to solve everything today. Just stay safe for now. Zara is here to talk whenever you need, and there is no shame in asking for help.
