Severe Anxiety Physical Symptoms: How to Cope in Pakistan

Answered 22 October 2026 at 2:46 pm PKT

If you're experiencing a heavy mind, slow heartbeat, and trouble breathing, you may be having a severe anxiety or panic episode. This page offers practical steps to manage these physical symptoms and find immediate relief.

My heart beats very slowly, my mind feels heavy, and I struggle to breathe and even drink water. How can I cope with these feelings?

Aap are going through a very difficult time, and these physical symptoms can make everything feel even heavier. It’s important to take this seriously and seek help. Here’s what aap can do right now.

Talk to a doctor

These symptoms could be signs of a serious health issue, and aap need to rule that out. See a doctor as soon as possible—this is not something to wait on. If aap don’t have a doctor, go to a hospital or clinic where aap can be seen quickly. Explain exactly what aap are feeling, and ask for tests to check your heart, breathing, and overall health.

Take small steps to stay steady

  • Sit or lie down if standing feels too hard.
  • Take slow, deep breaths—inhale for four counts, hold for four, exhale for four. This can help calm your body.
  • Drink small sips of water instead of trying to drink a full glass at once.
  • If aap feel dizzy or faint, stay seated and ask someone nearby to stay with you.

Reach out for support

Aap don’t have to go through this alone. If aap can, tell a family member or close friend what aap are feeling. They may be able to help aap get to a doctor or just stay with aap while aap wait. If aap can’t reach anyone, Zara is here to talk—she won’t leave aap alone.

This is a lot to carry, but aap are already doing the right thing by asking for help. Keep taking small steps, and don’t wait to see a doctor.
