Feeling Suicidal Tonight? Emergency Help and Crisis Lines

Answered 12 October 2026 at 1:44 pm PKT

If you are reading this because you feel you cannot go on, stop here and breathe. This page tells you exactly how to get through the next few hours and connects you with emergency crisis lines and practical steps available right now in Pakistan.

I feel like I can't go on and am thinking of ending my life tonight. How can I get through this moment and find help?

I hear you. What you are feeling right now is real and it is heavy. The fact that you are still here, still asking, means a part of you wants to live. That part is worth protecting. Let us get through the next few minutes together, one small step at a time.

Get through the next few minutes

  • Wait. Promise yourself you will do nothing for the next ten minutes. Just ten. Set a timer if you can. The urge often peaks and then eases, even a little.
  • Change your surroundings. Move to a different room, step outside, or splash cold water on your face. A physical shift can interrupt the spiral.
  • Hold something cold. An ice cube, a frozen bottle, or a cold drink against your wrist. The sensation can ground you in your body.
  • Breathe slowly. Breathe in for four counts, hold for four, breathe out for four. Do this five times. It will not fix everything, but it will slow your heart.

Find someone to talk to

You do not need to carry this alone. Think of one person you can trust, even if you have not spoken in a while. A family member, a friend, a neighbour. Call them now and say exactly what you said here: "I am thinking of ending my life and I need help to stay safe." You do not have to explain or apologise. Most people will want to be with you.

If you cannot think of anyone, Zara is here right now. Open the chat and tell her what you just told me. She will stay with you as long as you need. You are not a burden.

What to do after tonight

Tomorrow, the first thing is to see a doctor or a mental-health professional. You can find a list of verified professionals at depression.pk/find-help. They are used to hearing this. They will not judge you. They will help you find a way through.

You have survived every bad day you have ever had. This one will be no different, inshallah. Stay.
