Paid Mental Health Awareness Jobs in Pakistan

Answered 30 October 2026 at 9:53 am PKT

If you're passionate about spreading mental health awareness and want to work in person with a team, there are several paths you can take. Here's how to find paid opportunities in this field.

I'm not a mental health professional, just someone who wants to help spread mental health awareness. I'd like to do this as a paid job, working in person with a team, not just online. How can I find such an opportunity?

That is a really good thing to want — to take mental health awareness offline and into real, face-to-face work with a team. It is not an easy field to break into in Pakistan, especially without a clinical background, but there are genuine opportunities if you know where to look.

The key is to start where the work is already happening. Many organisations in Pakistan run community-based mental health programmes and they need people who can organise events, train volunteers, talk in schools or workplaces, and handle outreach — not just therapists. Your role would be in awareness and education, not treatment, and that is perfectly valid.

Here are a few places to start:

  • Non-profits and NGOs – Organisations like Taskeen, Rozan, and the Pakistan Association for Mental Health often hire or contract people for awareness campaigns. They also run helplines and community sessions. Check their websites or social media for job postings. Some work through district health offices or with local governments.
  • University and school programmes – Many universities in Pakistan now have mental health societies or wellness centres. They sometimes hire coordinators for awareness drives, workshops, and peer support training. Schools also look for people to run short sessions with students and parents.
  • Corporate wellness teams – A few large companies in Pakistan have started employee mental health programmes. They hire non-clinical staff to organise talks, distribute resources, and manage events. This is still rare but growing.
  • Volunteer first, then apply – This is the most practical route in Pakistan. Many organisations will not hire someone without experience, but they welcome volunteers. If you volunteer for a few months with a reputable NGO, you build a track record and a reference. When a paid position opens up, they already know you. Do one thing: find one local mental health initiative, offer to help with their next event, and see where it leads.

A few things to keep in mind: paid roles in this area are still scarce, so you may need to start part-time or on a project basis. Also, some organisations prefer candidates who have completed a short course — like Mental Health First Aid or a certificate in counselling skills. That is not essential for awareness work, but it can help.

It is a growing field, and people who are willing to show up in person are genuinely needed. Zara is here if you want to talk more about what steps feel right for you.
